This is one of those quandries that frustrate the soul. The lengthy, documented post I had just about finished just got wiped by a computer/html/busted-internet problem. There may have been some operator stupidity in there as well.
That said, today is probably one of the most important days for this country since I have been alive. I am feeling the weight of the day.
Since I do not have the time to recreate the post that SHOULD have been here, I will leave you with these thoughts...
1) Go Vote
2) Be careful who you choose
3) Freedom, religous liberty, judeo-christian values, respect for life, maturity, capitalism, free-markets, republicanism and democracy are mixed in an imperfect way in our great nation - like no where else in our world or history. While imperfect, they are the finest ideals and practices ever inscribed by a people as the basis of government.
There are others who in recent history have preached change. Humanity has been much the worse because of those who embraced change without consideration of the ideals that were driving the change they sought.
Change was wrought by "progressives" in ancient history as well - to the destruction of nations and individuals.
Woe (as in without any semblance of cool results) to those who call evil good and good evil,
who put darkness for light and light for darkness,
who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.
Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight.
Woe to those who are heroes at drinking wine and champions at mixing drinks,
who acquit the guilty with a bribe, but deny justice to the innocent.
Sound like the Democratic party practice politik? It is Isaiah - 8th century BC - 5:20-22.
Go vote.
