What Did You Expect?

Dear Mr. President -

While there is a great many of your opinions I think you need to rethink - and in some case come to a basic understanding of the facts versus rhetoric - in the case of the economic results of your directives and stated policies, what more could you have expected than that which is rapidly occurring?

As a fundamental rule of both historical and modern economics, governments cannot establish value.  When a government takes the steps to determine value in the marketplace, it, by the very nature of commerce and exchange, inherently destroys the value of the specific product but ALSO the entire validity of the market itself.

Our leadership in the world economy was not because of greed or avarice or manipulation - it was simply because we possessed a marketplace that the world could rely on to establish value based upon the only viable element - that is what someone is willing to pay for the product or service.

With your administration's attempt, and in large part success to date, to destroy the marketplace by arbitrarily determining value, you have succeeding in undoing what has taken decades and even centuries to build.  Governments are inherently corrupt in any venture into the markeplace because they violate the fundamental rule of commerce.  That rule is that value is determined by the fair exchange of value.  Value for value.

At ANY point that government changes or establishes value - the marketplace cannot place any value on the affected goods or service because the fundamental rule of commerce has been violated.  Government intervention in the marketplace DESTROYS the marketplace because that action inherently destroys value.  Please re-read this paragraph.

Mr. President, you have destroyed the value of at least one-sixth of the American economy in a matter of a few weeks.  You have, in cooperation with congress and a naive, pedantic and grossly uneducated media not only moved us closer to the worst financial disaster in written history, you have greatly undermined our ability to ever recover from it.

Mr. President, for once in your public career, listen to the voices of reason.  Quit parlaying the Nation's future for political posture and ingratiation with world leaders who have proven themselves corrupt.

Restore control of the marketplace to the market forces and get government OUT of the business of destroying our economy.

Thank you.
