I found something recently that jumped off the page. It may not resonate with anyone else as it has me but, I think my dictionary is narrowing my choice of words in describing what is happening in Washington.
If you look at the breathless activity in the halls of government over this last year, it is very sobering what has transpired and what we have been aligned to endure moving forward. This is not leadership, it is not naivetivity - it is at its very best abandonment of every principle which has made our Nation great and at its very worst (and really at it's core), simply evil.
Back to what I found that made such an impact. It is the writing of David in the Psalter / Psalms while he was observing the wickedness of men who were destroying their land and even committing murder or encouraging the same for political gain and destruction of the nation as it was going through extraordinary times.
Help Lord, for no faithful one remains;
the loyal have disappeared from the human race.
They lie to one another;
they speak with flattering lips and deceptive hearts.
May the Lord cut off all flattering lips and the tongue that speaks boastfully.
They say, "Through our tongues we have power;
our lips are our own - who can be our master?"
"Because of the oppression of the afflicted and the groaning of the poor,
I will now rise up," says the Lord.
"I will put in a safe place the one who longs for it."
The words of the Lord are pure words,
like silver refined in an earthen furnace,
purified seven times.
You, Lord, will guard us;
You will protect us from this generation forever.
The wicked wander everywhere,
and what is worthless is exalted by the human race.
That last verse (this is Psalm 12 by the way) really caps and synthesizes the situation today. Washington is detroying real value that was created by a people and nation and individuals who really understood that our success depended upon engaging and fighting evil in the world and our society.
Man is intrinsically broken and we need a government that is limited by its very nature due to the condition of man.
The founders and our fathers fled from the concept of government in control of virtually ANYTHING. Government was to be controlled so it did nothing but create order out of chaos and provide the framework for people to be FREE TO DO RIGHTEOUSLY (equal opportunity will never create equal outcome - people will make good and bad choices).
That freedom is being twisted by an evil ideology into an artificial system of depravity. There is no hope for the result, if we cannot stop those responsible, other than destruction.
We have an administration that is filling governement with people who lie to each other about the "good" they are doing while destroying our values and the Judeo-Christian basis of our founding, history and nation. In the name of "good" and "progress".
We have a president who has boasted often, particularly recently, that his "oratorical prowess will overcome any obstacle to our agenda".
We have a congress and judiciary and administration who have derided the need to protect the most defenseless among us and are now exporting to the world an ideology that "want equals need" and life is not as valuable as self-gratification.
We have a congress, administration and judiciary who constantly use the "poor" and "children" as campaign props while legislating the most damaging proposals in American history for those same.
We have and administration that came to power on the pretense of "righteousness" and a nod toward the faith that the nation was built upon but has abjectly rejected any recognition of the authority of God over government in any single instance of governing. Not even once.
So the bottom line? This administration, this congress and the majority of our judiciary are creating value from thin air. Everything that they hold dear - the agenda, the ideology, the action plan, the oratory.. et al... it is quite simply worthless. It has been worthless in every cycle of history from the dawn of creation.
But they sell it as the glory of the ages. It is "hope and change". It is vaporware and it is evil in it's application. It is a lie.
"..what is worthless is exalted by the human race."
Without recognition of God's providence in our nation's founding and prosperity - we lose, and have lost a great part, the real value of our existence and government. Purpose and opportunity.
Those in power may be happy as they begin the real process of oppression of the defenseless but, call the game what it is. It is evil.
